Chips and gravy was good, chicken a little dry
Good Product, Terrible Service. My boyfriend and I have been long time supporter of Jums, however our latest experience with their (new?) manager has completely alienated us from the place. My boyfriend ordered a small chips with gravy and then had to take a phone call, which was fine as I was there ready to collect the chips. When they called the order not only did the service person look exasperated that my boyfriend was on the phone, even though I was standing right there signalling that I would grab the chips-but the manager rudely yelled at my boyfriend. Will not be back and would not recommend, such a shame as their product is delightful but the manager and staff need to remember that customers can find pretty great chicken and chips elsewhere and with better service.
Good chicken. Surprisingly good, rating is deserved. 1/2 Chicken with potatoes and vegetables very nice. good gravy too
Best chips. Wish they were open… Ever!
Mixed. Chicken rolls are microwaved and what you’d expect from a late night take away store. chips are great though
I love jums but unfortunately have to agree with other reviewers comments about the poor hours etc. it could make a fortune for them if they got serious about service.
It’s a shame that what has been considered the best chicken, chips and gravy on the coast for over three decades has been taken over by the laziness shop manager (owner???) in the past few years. The food is still good – it’s just you can’t buy it past 6.25pm on a Saturday night! Doors are often locked shut and shop cleaned by 7pm! If you aren’t buying your dinner before 6pm, forget it, they don’t put enough on and don’t seem to care that they are missing out on sales. It seems that this manager just isn’t interested in doing business with the local community, tourist or resident. Unfortunately a legacy gone bad due to poor business practices.
