In this sleepy seaside village it’s always good to know you can count on General Store’s consistent coffee. Over the course of several visits in recent years, Anglesea General Store has provided the necessary caffeine injections for The Dear Luncher to get through a day of sitting around and not doing much. This place puts the General back into General Store. It’s really generic, generally speaking.

Came here in a group twice over the weekend. Although the food and drinks were fantastic on both occasions, service was slow and quite unfriendly. Meals were brought out at totally different times, meaning some people were still waiting on food while others had finished, and some menu choices had run out so there was limited choice. On Sunday the poached eggs were also over cooked and not runny. This place would almost be perfect if service was fixed.
Have come here a few times to both dine in & take away. There has been a few mishaps here and there with our orders, & been forgotten to be brought the food & few other errors so now only get things we can buy & take straight away. Thoroughly enjoy all the local produce.
Love this place! One of the best places in town. The last time i ate here was for a Nordic breakfast. The guys who work here are awesome too- and they’re always cool about trying to veganise a dish from the menu. I come here at leas once a week because the choice and prices are great
Beautiful cafe on the Anglesea foreshore. Cute, modern design, friendly staff and a wonderful selection of food. We ordered a ham and cheese croissant, chicken aioli sandwich, a hot chocolate and a chai latte. Food was great, hot chocolate was nice and chai latte was good! Would recommend, a lovely atmosphere!
Totally blown away by the delicious breakfast we had here. Being from Melbourne and being used to a creative breakfast joint on every other corner I’m so pleasantly surprised to say that one of my best breakfasts ever has been at Anglesea!
We were impressed by the very creative and delicious vegetarian options available – we shared a tasty dish with mixed mushrooms, a semolina porridge, gruyere wafer and possibly other lovely elements, and then my absolute favourite breakfast I’ve had – an Indonesian style brekky with poached then fried eggs sitting on top of yummy coconut rice, with crunchy stir fried mixed greens and veggies with lemongrass and peanut flavours, a spicy sambal, and a rice cracker on the side – the kind you get with gado gado. Was amazing! Great ambience, friendly staff, huge selection of sweet and savoury lunch/take away options behind the counter, fantastic coffee and a view of the river. Can’t wait to visit again next time we are in Anglesea.
