Visited the restaurant after staying the weekend in town. Was looking forward to dinner but unfortunately the chicken Parma was cold and food arrived in under 10 minutes which indicates it was all pre ready to go. We also ordered the squid which came out looking like a kids meal with chewy squid which also indicated it was frozen. The chips were half covered in sauce and everything looked sloppy. I ordered an espresso martini for the waitress to then just ask “so what do I put in this” if your working at the bar you should know what goes in a drink. Definitely wouldn’t come back for tasteless, pre made and cold food

I have been dining at this pub since it had an old horse cart as a salad bar and power outages were a regular feature during bad weather. It is fair to say that the quality has waxed and wained over the years and it makes sense in a venue that has seasonally driven demand. They are currently the better of the two pubs in town producing solid pub food. If you follow the pub dining rule of thumb and stick to the classics you won’t go too far wrong.
