Friday night is family night, so mum suggested we go out to a Vietnamese fusion restaurant in Armadale. Le Tonkin is less than a year old, but has the confidence of a mature establishment. On arrival we were pleasantly surprised to see our table with baby seat all set up. The fit out is very intimate and luxurious. A neon sign invites diner to “be here now”. Wise words indeed.
This restaurant is exactly what Armadale was missing. Great Vietnamese restaurant. As a vegan, they catered and helped me out well. Everyone must get the eggplant dish – it was the star of the night. My group also got the pork belly and barramundi which they found quite nice too but portion size could have been bigger. Will be coming back for sure
Great new eatery on High St. A variety of Asian dishes mainly Vietnamese inspired. Have enjoyed a couple of take away meals & a sit in lunch. Highly recommend the grilled chicken vermicelli noodle salad served with fresh herbs, bean shoots & nuoc cham dressing. Chicken & shitake spring rolls also delicious with Kumquat nuoc cham. Take away containers are recyclable paper which is pleasing. Today sitting in, I tried the beef Pho. Broth was well flavoured but the beef was over cooked & tough. Also shared two types of dumplings – juicy pork & ginger prawn. Both served with a delicious chilli jam & soy. Totally moreish.
This is a great little local restaurant. The food has a uniqueness about it which is difficult to find these days. The friendliness of the staff along with the professional way they work makes for a fantastic evening.
