AMAZING coffee and service and fabulous food, will definitely be back. Innovative twists on old skool classics make for extremely tasty bites. Great atmosphere
Came here for a late breakfast pretty hungry and left more than satisfied.
Delicious food and coffee. The best gluten free bread Ive had at a cafe and the bagels were a winner too. Best barista bayside.
I really enjoying seeking out these new little cafes tucked away in small suburbs. And this one was great.
Pleasantly welcomed and fretted with smiles.
I came here to do some work and was happy to sit in the corner and keep to myself with my breakfast.
The coffee was good and the food also, was delicious.
Very quiet, but had only been opened for a few weeks when I came here, but few of the locals had obviously made it there New coffee spot.
Very accomodating staff. Thanks for letting me work in my little corner all morning.
Good service, BBq pulled beef cheeks are to die for. Coffee is nicely made as well! Nice quaint little hidden gem of a cafe. Will definately come back.
Such a lovely little new cafe in an unsuspecting location. Its small and simply styled. The menu has a good selection and all the dishes with a good menu. Well delivered dishes
The soy chai was amazing (prana chai ) I had Puerto Rican Beans with poached egg, cheddar and Toast for breakkie – yummo! The staff are really friendly and service is spot on. My new favourite cafe in the area!
Skinny boy Jim is a new cafe located in a refitted shop front in a small and nondescript local shopping strip in a back street of Aspendale. It is upmarket and far more trendy than it’s location should promise, and no doubt will prove to be the proverbial gem for locals. It is a little off the main shopping precinct so you may need to go searching. The exterior features a black and white colour scheme over the original brickwork and panelling, and a folding window, but is otherwise unremarkable. Some large pot plants on casters are wheeled out to help beautify the pavement, and some quaint white table and chair settings are placed outside offering kerbside dining. The black and white scheme is continued inside. The decor is modern and swish. One wall is lined with hanging planters, and the timber panel lined counter is complemented by rustic timber tables and white pressed metal chairs. A cushioned bench lines one wall. The ambience was enhanced by some cool layback tracks gently playing in the background . I found the menu interesting and inspired, and it included vegetarian options. Vegans are also accommodated. I had the buttermilk waffles with berries and marscapone from the breakfast menu, which was delightfully presented and delicious. The coffee was very good, extracted well with no signs of bitterness and served at a good temperature. The service was friendly and casual, and I was attended to expeditiously. This cafe is quite a find, and some way off the town centre. When in the area, seek it out.
