Wednesday night is seafood night & consequently is a pretty busy night. The anchovy special ($14) was nice, and you can see the quality of the chef in the way the dish was constructed. But the ‘flatbread’ was actually little crispy bread pieces which were incredibly difficult to eat – until they went soggy from the anchovies and dressing. The drinks menu takes an hour to read, it’s that extensive. A dozen or so pages for all the speciality beers they stock, plus a large list of all the local wines. An unexpectedly classy place in Avoca.

Myself and my wife have visited this venue numerous times since moving to the country. A truely diverse venue with a small country style pub at the front, the focal point of the entire place is the back dining area. The food here is superb, it is well thought out flavours, intricately plated and delicious. It is evident the the chef is given free reigns to use her own flare and style and it makes the restaurant a highlight of Western Victoria. The owner, Ian, is friendly, knowledgable and attentive. The wine list is 90 percent local Pyrenees wine which is also a major highlight. Must do.

Excellent food – rabbit cannelloni, roast cauliflower, local pork rib two ways – delicious! Five fascinating craft beers on tap as well. Great atmosphere. Recommended.

Really great high quality restaurant – far better than your average pub. Also clean, efficient and elk organised. Nice country atmosphere, only serves wine from grapes grown in the Pyrenees
