Pause bar, what a sensational venue! I’ve recently hosted a birthday function here, and everything was impeccable, the food (amazing), the drinks package and the effective and friendly service is excellent.
The Mezze plate is great for sharing over a Sunday afternoon wine, and the fries are the best in Melbourne! The home made dips are all vegetarian, which is awesome, and there are many vegan and gluten free options.
It’s obvious that this bar is a locals favourite, as the customers (all locals, I’m assuming) and bar staff have a great rapport.
HAPPY HOUR is definitely worth a mention, all night on Wednesday and 4 – 8 every other day! Beers are $6, as are the house wines. My all time favourite pause bar special is the 2 for $22cocktails, especially on a Wednesday!
The menu here looks appetising. However what you receive on the plate is something completely different. Cheap ingredients and very displeasing in taste. If I owned this place I would be appalled as the pause bar has a lot of potential but the food really needs picking up.

I’ve been to this bar 3 times now, each time being a really crappy experience… only reason for coming back being there are very limited bar options around this part of Carlisle St. Service is really horrible and slow, with on particular waitress having a massive chip on her shoulder. Became angry when we asked for our table to be wiped down as it had crumbs all over it… came back with a sponge and while wiping made sure all the crumbs flicked onto our laps, then we waited about 30mins for a coffee and wine when there was literally only a couple other customers. Never again.
Like pause bar for a quiet evening. Usually we go there for a drink and catch up with friends, the staff is very welcoming and friendly which is a plus along with the affordable alcohol prices.
Good spot for Afternoon bevs with outdoor area getting the North sun in nicely. Good bands hve been here a few times on Fridays & noise level works well when you’re outside
Party Town!!!. Good atmosphere, drinks, food. Great place for a party or function.
Mezze Plate. Selection of cured meats,dips,olives,dolmades,falafel sevved with pide. $15 great for two.
