I ordered a chicken schwarma hummous bowl with an add on of fried eggplant and a side of falafels ($23). The service was good, the hummous was a good silky texture and the pita was very fresh and soft. However, overall I was disappointed in the flavour – I thought the hummous and schwarma were a bit on the tasteless side, the eggplant very oily and the falafels were quite salty but not having the flavour punch I wanted. It certainly wasn’t horrible and the ingredients were good quality, but a bit over priced for the taste I think. A dish with pickles might have been better to add more zest.

Tavlin seeks to impress with the flavours of Tel Aviv. And that, it certainly does.Staying true to the street style of dining, Tavlin’s menu is “fast” food that is prepared with a whole of lot of love and care. Designed by owner and chef Adi Daboush, whose career in hospitality spans a lifetime, the succinct yet impactful menu is a contemporary take on family recipes brought from Damascus, Tripoli and Tel Aviv which takes inspiration from his travels through the Middle East, South, Central and North America, Europe and Asia.We loved everything we ordered from the menu. Everything is homemade here, from the dips to the bread. And it really makes a difference. The iconic Tavlin hummus is simply some of the best we have ever had.

Came here for a quick healthy dinner, sat at the bar area. I had a chicken shawarma bowl which was delicious and filling-I love the pickles and the hummus! Also had chips, freshly cooked and delicious. Still prefer the original Tavlin because of the laffa bread and the banquet-but this is great for a quick meal.

Had a delicious, healthy meal – served fresh and tasty. I’ll be back very soon. Lamb shawarma in a bowl filled with the freshest accompaniments. Service was friendly. Thank you.
