Chris and Greg and their team have done an absolutely amazing job with what was once the nurses quarters for the base . Transforming the old mason cafe into a rich cozy comfortable bar/restaurant , they have integrated 1920s style with beautiful and intricate furniture and dark brooding wall paints . Subtle features such as the newspaper rack
and window dressings make the atmosphere one of the best in Ballarat , aided by the hosts of course .
The delicious menu offered is served up by head chef Julie who is honestly one of the most lovely women in hospitality . The dips are to die for but you can’t go past the lamb cutlets . Get in my belly ! The chicken lettuce taco cups and toasty roasted Rosemary potatoes are also worth a try as well .
The lovely atmosphere and generous happy hour Friday’s make this one of my favourite places in Ballarat . Greg , Chris and Gus are happy to slow down and have a chat with you as well – another rarity .
I will post some photos shortly but I expect Bar WaT to continue to flourish . Fantastic !
