This place is off laneway and reminiscent of the cafes you’d find in former industrial warehouses in Melbourne. Started with drinks, coffee was nice. I odered the Granola and it being a true Vegan dish it came with Almond Milk and Coconut Yogurt. What a stunning dish, beautifully plated and the poached saffron apple looked amazing. The apple should have been the star but my spoon could not penetrate it and neither could the fork and i ended up using a sharp knife to cut into it. This resulted in yellow fingers from the saffron whilst trying to hold the firm apple whilst cutting into it. A real shame as the flavour was excellent and the combination of the granola, toasted almonds and dried cranberries with the yogurt and apple was sublime. My friend has the eggs Benedict which is one of his favourite dishes but the hollandaise lacked the zing from lemon and the entire dish was a little underwhelming. The cafe was full when we arrived and i will return because i love the atmosphere. Service was good but again plate clearing was done before we both had finished, a common problem in many cafes and restaurants. The cafe scene in Ballarat is gaining momentum and this place is a must visit for cafe lovers.
