I LOVE IT. If there was an ‘I love it’ button id be pressing it… the service with John behind the bar was incredible and Karen in the kitchen was just as awesome…. We ordered the BBQ parma, by far the best parma Iv ever had… service was great, lounge/bistro was awesome, I cant speak highly enough…. def going back there again and again and again…. Thanks very much John and Karen

Good value old school pub. Four families with teens wanting to dine together? Gastro pub? No thanks. The Royal Oak met our needs perfectly…pub food as we remember it (mixed grill, anyone?). Order your meal (emphasis on steaks and parmas but some pasta and fish options too) and then collect as much salad and vegetables as you can load onto your plate. The teens (all boys) loved the steaks and the pool table. The adults loved the friendly service (barman went to the cellar to retrieve a bottle of pinot grigio just for one glass) and value for money. And the steaks were cooked exactly as ordered…no mean feat. Lots of locals dining there on a Sunday night…clearly regulars with the staff calling many by name. Very impressive and honest place that will make you feel warm in many respects. Leave your pretensions at home.

As previously mentioned, good old fashioned pub food done well. Servings are huge and relatively cheap. The self serve veggie and salad bar was excellent with all dishes done well. Would recommend to anyone looking for a hearty, no frills and inexpensive dining option.
