Great spot. Great selections of beer and wines! Food was fantastic. Nice relaxed vibe. Plenty of vegetarian options. A must visit if in the Ballarat area.
Went here for Sunday lunch. I had roast Lamb and vegetables. Best lamb I have had in a very long time. Vegetables were perfectly cooked! My partner had a burger and chips which was very good also. Service was as you would expect at a country pub, spot on! I would definitely go back.
We went on a Thursday night a few weeks ago. It was Parma night for locals. The four of us had chicken parmas. Food was fantastic and really great value. The waitress was extremely helpful and couldnt do enough for us! Really lovely ambience in restaurant area. Will definitely return
Really fantastic, outstanding, absolutely mind-blowing. The Jerk chicken kicked me right in the tastesbuds, threw me over the fence, and was so jerking good. It’s such a tragedy that I will not be able to eat this for the rest of my life. The lamb shoulder tasted like a honest, hard working, Mexican blue collar gentleman’s beard after a hard day of working. Absolutely blew me away. The service was top notch, like a very classy, expensive, toorak nursing home. Beers so great it would make your boyfriend cry. The interior design provides an atmosphere a homely American style cabin, perfect for a horror movie massacre, minus the massacre and the serial killer, with a generous sprinkle of pure class. Especially love the water lilies and romantic spring onions that adorn the tables. I can almost imagine a French frog that was rejected on a date and sat on the water lille leaves under a warm moonlit nought. Good restaurant. Would recommend.
This was a nice little surprise for us. We were meeting up with friends in Ballarat to continue our trip to Dunkeld and after a quick google decided to meet here. The food was tasty and we really enjoyed it!
Had dinner here with family and it was so-so. Service was good, but the food itself was loaded with fries. I ordered the fish and chips, the chips covered the bottom of the plate and there was only 2 small battered fish on top, salmon portion was also very small, only the steak was big, tastewise all were standard pub meal taste.
Third time is not a charm. Each time that we have been things are just a little more disappointing. Talk about dark where we were placed. Imagine a room lit by a 40 watt bulb 2 meters away. I actually pulled out my phone to read the menu. The staff are friendly but not confident with the menu. The guy taking our order referred three times to the chef. I would have thought that twice was a lot. Service was good overall but not attentive. We asked for our entrees and mains to be served together, sadly that didn’t happen. The final disappointment was the overcooked fried fish. It was honestly one step from being burnt and neither the chef nor the server noticed. I wondered if they use 40 watt bulbs in the kitchen too! A big slip in standards.
