Walked in as the owner was setting up, asked if they were right to make a coffee and he was happy to do so. Place was clean coffee was good and I loved the menu boards with coffee beans behind the glass. Only one thing annoyed me and it’s the same problem I have everywhere I go, if I ask for an extra shot just do it please! I know how many shots are in each cup and I like my coffee strong. Will definitely go back.
Great coffe! Hard to find lactose free options that arent soy. But have now found my local and bonus it has great food coffe and very friendly staff.
Best Staff – Best Coffee. Thank God I have a local that knows how to make a great coffee! Always consistent. The food here is great but the real bonus is the staff – always smiling and super friendly. This is one I can highly recommend when you’re passing through North Balwyn.

Never Again!. Working on Saturday, my colleague and I decided to have a lunch break between appointments and stopped here to have a coffee and a quick lunch. Coffee was good however 40 minutes after ordering we were still waiting for our lunch which was nothing more than an omelette! There were other patriots around us having a grizzle as they too were waiting. Interestingly enough the owner and a couple of staff members were sitting at the table next to us enjoying what looked to be a great meal. I wonder how look they had to wait for their orders! Hah! Unfortunately we disrupted them and had to ask for our money back, leaving without lunch, a grumbling tummy and not very happy!
Have grabbed takeaway coffees often enough and was impressed. However, I took a friend there for breakfast recently. It took an absolute age to get straight forward menu items. We were told there would be a wait but there were only 4 others in the cafe. I won’t be doing that again and will probably not bother about coffee either, esp as The Bean Thief is so proximate.
Nice cafe with a cosy experience. Great coffee, gelati, food and staff. The food is fresh and top quality. Will definitely go back again – might even now make it a new meeting place with friends.
