Chimes is very much a hit and miss experience. The starters are very good (Lamb seekh kebab & Mixed Vegatable sizzle plate) unfortunately that’s where the enjoyment ended…The vindaloo lacked flavour & spice and was like eating a korma with the taste removed, the Madras was slightly better but overly sweet and the Saag ok but again lacked any real flavour…and worse still the mains were all served lukewarm.
Pointed out the above to the manager but to no avail
Even the ‘authentic’ Indian lager was watered down rubbish.
Group of 3 of us shared our meals all quite tasty and pretty standard Indian food. We had butter chicken, korma beef, chicken fried rice, steam rice, spring rolls and naan bread. Service was friendly and didnt have to wait long for our meals. We were there by 7pm on a thur night. There was about 3 other parties there. Quite atmosphere, neat and clean. BYO.
