My family has been going here for over 30 years. All of the food is fantastic and the proprietor, Helen is a marvellous lady. I cannot pick out any particular item to rave over. The sausage rolls – great, also the quiches (both Quiche Lorraine and Vegetarian Quiche). The cakes too, particularly the strawberry cakes. Now Helen has moved a couple of doors down and has a coffee shop (in addition to the cakes etc.). I cannot wait to try this.
I can’t give my opinion on there savoury food or coffees, ordered there small chocolate cake (don’t remember what it’s called) for a birthday was light a airy, and some of the best shortbread cookies.
I have tried several cinnamon rolls in Melbourne, this one is the best so far, not too sweet but full of flavor (cause i prefer a strong flavor of the cinnamon) I really like it, lots of people in the shop when I went there last time, must be good with other cakes, will try some next time 😀
Have been a customer for 15 years. They have been producing fabulous Swiss style sweet and savoury for about 30 years in this little shopping strip. Never needed to advertise/promote because customers return. My favourite are the little glazed fruit tartlets with custard underneath and the SPINACH Quiche. WOW. I was once told how much cream goes into the quiche. Can’t remember, but do recall being astonished. LOTS. The cheesecake is a good example of the light sponge, baked Swiss cheese cake. It has to be eaten fresh, and can dry out if refrigerated badly. Nothing like the very sweet, gelatin and cream cheese cold sets that are mass produced.
There isn’t one thing in this store that is not of professional standards. Our family has been going here for over 20 years. Their little cakes are amazing and their quiche is to die for!!!! Can highly recommend!!!!
Excellent cakes, amazing friendly helpful staff. They never hesitate to personalise cakes and go above and beyond. Sacher torte is very delicious
