I walked into Sang Duen thinking that this looked like a place that belonged in a regional town. The decor gave that strong vibe, the table setting was inconsistent and sloppy, plus It was empty on a Sunday night at 8.15. Thankfully the food was better than that. We dropped in here because they’re the only Thai place out of many around my area, that serve yum woon sen. this is a Thai salad containing bean threads (like glass noodles), onion, chili, lemon, crushed peanut and a choice of prawn or pork. Our prawn one was pretty good, though fairly indulgent with the chili. They even added more of a seafood mixture and coriander. Despite this, there wasn’t a whole lot of character, and I would describe it as pretty nice. I guess I prefer my Thai style salads with stronger flavours. We also got the pad thai with chicken, which was one of those unfortunate stories where the most of the flavours are there, but something holds it back. In this case, it was the noodles, which were undercooked. For me that is one thing that can kill a pad thai before the flavours hit your palate, is that overly resistant rubbery texture of undercooked noodles. I overlooked it because the flavours were good, but hopefully it isn’t always served like that. The last dish we had was the ki yad si, which is like a Thai omelette, not unlike the Vietnamese pancake. This one was very salty and more oily than I would have liked, but other than that, was well-cooked. There was tastiness beneath the saltiness and a decent amount of ingredients. I’d probably try some other dishes for takeaway, but wouldn’t dine in again.

Recently had takeaway from here, it was okay nothing special. Although it was delivered on time and hot it was just very underwhelming. The spring rolls were tasty and quite bigger than I excepted, the pad Thai however was extremely flavourless it honestly didn’t have a taste at all. However the homemade deepfried chicken balls were tasty as was the roti.

Been here twice now and love the food. Staff are very friendly and attentive. Chicken Satay is very tasty, Spring rolls were delicious as were the dim sims, Curries have not disappointed us either. Definitely will be back.

Loved it! Had a really nice meal. Service was great and the food was really nice. Less than $80 for 4 and we had food left over. No complaints!
