Not sure what happened with our food tonight (for home delivery) – last time we ordered from here about 6 months ago it wasn’t so bad. Tonight the food was just straight up bland, virtually no spiceness in anything – was like the kitchen had run out of chilli’s + spices (and I dare say flavour).
Tandoori chicken totally not like something from a tandoori oven – most likely regular oven so texture all wrong – somehow managed to be both dried out and soggy all at the same time. Beef Madras curry lacking in any sort of flavour. Samosas/bhaji entrees just oily pastry and potato bits – again no real taste to mention.
We stopped eating not because we were full or because it was finished – we stopped eating out of boredom and threw the rest out – that pretty much says it all.
The staff get points for being efficient. Nice restaurant, tablecloths with paper on top. However I would have liked it more if a jug of water and glasses had been put on our table. We were on a deal with set entree. These were OK but had no sauces with them (onion fired thing, tandoori chicken, samosa). 5 out of 6 of us chose the butter chicken. It was ok but I’ve had better. Similarly I’ve had much better naan elsewhere.
Just had dinner here, totally forgot to take pic as nothing special.
We bought groupon voucher for 2, the appetizer was 1 slice of chicken, 1 bhaji and 1 samosa, which all tasted standard.
There were only 1 fork on our table, and we have to ask the waiter for more cutlery for main course and the waiter also said no need to order dessert as there is only ice cream available as the other dessert finished last nite… Oh well..
We ordered chicken vindaloo and beef rogan josh, it came out both beef, nevermind.
The vindaloo was only salty and a bit spicy, it taste imbalance, and the rogan josh was just okay.
The dessert came out pistachio kulfi, which was weird as the first time they said only have ice cream.
The kulfi taste terrible, with lots of spices inside, it didnt even taste like dessert.
I think they have this thinking that people that come using voucher have no money to spend to eat at restaurant which they supposed to be thinking that its a good way for them to promote their restaurant to get a repeat customer. This particular restaurant is one of those. Wont be back.
Love the food here. The Chicken Tikka is cooked to perfection and I love my Jalfrezi. The less adventurous family members also swear by the Butter Chicken. And the staff are always so helpful. This was a great place to introduce my kids to the delights of Indian food.
What a great find. Food was full of flavour, service was quick. Naan bread was outstanding light and fluffy and served straight from the Tandoori oven. Doesn’t look like much from the outside but really should give it a try. We will be seeing them often.
We ordered take away the other night for something different from other Indian restaurants in the area.. And yumm
The samosas delicious with a nice crust and soft authentic filling with fresh herbs
The butter chicken is always my favorite and will come back for this dish again. The chicken tender and the sauce I requested hot and had good heat in it with the fresh coriander flavor through it…
The rice light and fluffy .
Highly recommend this place and will be back
First visit to this restuarant and was impressed by the Good service. Entree of samosa was very flavoursome as was the naan bread, superb ! It stops there. Mains butter chicken was sweet and too acidic, the goat curry just overly salted again very sub standard and lacked depth and complexity. I think supermarket jar bought curry would taste better. I was disappointed as this restuarant had some good reviews. Perhaps I ordered the wrong meals on the menu. Bummer. I don’t really want to visit again. Perhaps only for the naan bread which could bring me back.
