Went in for breakfast during the week, what a mistake. The coffee was undrinkable… cold and bitter. My bacon and eggs was OK,nothing special. The service was lacklustre,. a pretty miserable experience all-round.
Ordered a fruit salad and got a bowl of cut up apple, banana, pineapple & watermelon for $8.00. The fruit wasn’t even fresh. The knife used to cut the fruit had obviously just cut garlic. Not very friendly staff either. Would never come back here again.
Went to this little cafe for Sunday brunch. Ordered the breakfast buffet plate. On the menu they advise you to have your appetite ready. They were not joking! Gigantic serving! Scrambled eggs where a tad overcooked and therefore dry, the toast was soggy underneath from the spinach but apart from that, an enjoyable brekky!! Coffee was great, food cane out fast, decent cafe!
Could do better. Yesterday, I visited Bath Lane Cafe for a quick coffee which I do frequently. The coffee was great and the location is ideal but there were a few issues which could be easily fixed. Firstly, the toilets weren’t clean and tidy – hadn’t been cleaned since the previous day by the looks. Also, it was difficult to find a usable chair and table outside, even though there were plenty available. They hadn’t been wiped down since they were set up, had wet spots everywhere and some had leaves on them. In such a competitive industry, it’s important to get these things right. Maybe there needs to be more staff or better supervision.
Not a Fan. Ordered a meal takeaway and there was nothing of it. Definitely not value for money
How to make a latte?. After waiting for 20 minutes on the weekend for 2 takeaway coffees, I observed the lady making the coffee place a blue napkin on top of a takeaway coffee to absorb the chocolate off the top, because she made a cappuccino by mistake instead of a latte. When I advised the staff member, if that’s my coffee I don’t want it she rudely said it wasn’t my order and gave it to the person behind me (poor guy who ordered a latte and apple muffin). After 20 minutes I asked for my money back and said snapped at me ‘I am doing it now.’ This caf has been one of my favourites for years but I will not be returning again. I work in customer service and I was being more then patient and had the right to reject a coffee that had blue coloring on it from the napkin.
Good staff and food. Enjoyable breakfast. Poached eggs actually poached and decent size. Friendly staff and nice outdoor area.
