Home Style Brings Us Back. Debbie’s Deli is one of those home-style sandwich shops with good tea, coffee and cake available during the morning and while stocks last. Being just down the hill from the major regional hospital, and just around the corner from a large fire station, a lot of its customers are staff calling in for morning tea or lunch. There is seating inside and out, with enough space for at least 30 patrons, and clean toilet facilities; newspapers and magazines are available.
We found this little treasure when we make our annual pilgrimage to the Bendigo Sheep and Wool Show every July. Roast of the Day or a salad sandwich are standard orders, and we look forward to a hot drink and a treat. Be careful if you park on the main road directly out front as the parking times can be limited (15 or 30 minutes) but in nearby side-streets it is two hour parking, or all day parking. For travellers like us it ticks all the boxes with good food served with a smile in clean and comfortable surroundings.
