We had gone to El Gordo for lunch over the weekend during our first trip to Bendigo. It’s located in a very cute lane. Lovely staff, very approachable. We ordered pulled pork burrito, chicken sandwich and a lime and mint mojito. Everything was fantastic. We highly recommend this cafe
Do yourself a favour. Go for breakfast. Grab a coffee and enjoy the ambiance of chancery lane at this beaute little cafe. Food is value for money deliciousness. Chad is a master barista… he makes magic flow from that machine! Service team A+
Great food, great drinks, staff are so friendly and accommodating. Breakfast and coffee is great and also tapas and a cocktail is fab. Its a really cool space too. We love El Gordo, just wish it was open in the evenings!
Excellent coffee, and quality, fresh ingredients made for a super tasty experience. So very reasonably priced, with quick and friendly service, this is most definitely a gem to return to. Located in funky Chancery Lane. I hope this place really takes off.
Everything from the coffee to the sensational lunch specials to the daily sweets is amazing.
Friendly service with a beautiful, cost feel to the place
A friend and I were over for lunch during good Friday and my, it’s one of the cutest little lanes we’ve seen so far. We dig the intimacy and the fact that staff were approachable. She had the pulled pork wrap and i had the smoked salmon brioche burger. I don’t know about the price but I understand. It was our first time and Bendigo and we loved it.
We had a lovely late lunch here. The Cubano burrito was not what I expected, but then again, I’ve never had one before. It was more like a toasted wrap. The turtle bean salad was nice, I just found it odd that there were peas and corn in there. Also seasoning seemed lacking. I expected more punchier flavours. Maybe I’m comparing to South American cuisine too much. The service was absolutely lovely. Cannot fault it at all. And being Bendigo, they were happy to have a chat. Would love to return and try the dinner menu. PS, they also have pencils and colouring books for kids.
