Loved this meal. Great, friendly and fast service and excellent food. We loved this so much we ate here twice on our four day stay in Bendigo. I had the beef brisket which was delicious and the next visit had the Duo of Lamb which I found even better. Veggies were perfectly cooked as I like them- still a little firm but fresh and full of flavour. My companions had salmon, seafood basket (amazing), lamb shank and a seniors fish and veg meal. Highly recommend. Thanks National staff and kitchen crew! We’ll make it a destination next visit.
Could not fault this place. The service at the bar was friendly and accommodating. Been there twice, once during the burger special, ridiculous range of burgers, all sounds fantastic. I got the Texan burger and it was huge for only $10. Also eaten from the bistoe menu which has some fantastic options. Dined with a large amount of people and there was no complaints at all about the food, all looked fantastic. Fantastic value for money
Tried to be healthy after the Christmas period and ordered a Thai beef salad.. BIG MISTAKE! Lucky I ordered the dressing on the side because it looked gravy and tasted like salty water.. The beef on the salad was like eating strips of rubber. Very disappointing.On a plus, My friends ordered steak which looked delicious.
I generally love the burgers and especially the chips at the Nash.
But in saying that they have changed some things which are now a bit average. The one time I opted for the parma, it wasn’t great to say the least, but was told that it usually isn’t like it was (different sauce and cheese).
The staff are also wonderful and friendly which is a biggy in my book.
Colleagues and I visit regularly for weekday lunches, always ordering at the bar. The $15 burgers are always of great value and generally better then what you find at other bars/grilled, unfortunately the parma and sometimes sides can be inconsistent. If you want a great burger, be it chicken or beef I would highly recommend the Nash for lunch. I have not visited the bistro.
We went here on Thursday and ate in the Bistro for a change. I was actually really pleasantly surprised. I had the specials Chicken which was oven roasted and sat on chat potato with confit shallots, baby carrots and asparagus, it was delicious. My husband had the pork belly, the crackle was perfect! My mum enjoyed her salt and pepper squid, and Bev enjoyed her Thai beef salad. The atmosphere lacks a bit, but all in all I was very happy. Much better than eating in the bar!
In from out of town and have to say not sure why there are some negative reviews on here. Staff were great, very friendly and the Cajun Chicken was delicious! I’ll definitely call in again next time I’m coming through and need a feed!
