Delicious. We ate here with 6 adults and 2 kids, and the staff couldn’t have been more accommodating. The eye fillet was cooked perfectly and was fantastic. Dessert was a little slow but overall a wonderful meal.

Disappointing. I would actually like to say we enjoyed this restaurant as the sole waitress attempting to manage the restaurant was very nice, however, we commenced the evening waiting for what felt like an eternity to order our first drinks. Once the ball got rolling, we hoped things would improve, it was not to be. The meals fell well short of our expectations. I ordered garlic prawns for entree which was the most bizarre form of this dish I’ve ever been served. Prawns in a sesame oil soup should have been its description, a dreadful oily mess. The remaining meals were less of an unpleasant surprise but not good quality. I was further startled to have a staff member, who appeared to serve various clients on occasion during the evening, perhaps a hotel manager, set herself up at table near to us with a magazine and a glass of wine. I clearly wasn’t on my own in being surprised at this as the looks from among diners from other tables said it all, very unprofessional. Overall a disappointing evening, we won’t be back.

Romantic vibe. As we walked in we were greeted by middle aged women, who made us feel welcome. We started with the entre (brochette), it was small to say least but far from ordinary, delicious yet overpriced. The view was perfect; the atmosphere was warm and comfortable. Table service was excellent. The menu was limited, barramundi was out. Mains range between $12 to $32 (pizza to a porterhouse steak). We received our mains in a timely manner. Spaghetti Marinara, was delicious full of flavour, could have used a little more sea food but otherwise for $24 was satisfied. Pizzas we had one Greek ($15) and another Vegetarian ($12) both were just smaller than a regular plate. The Greek pizza was full of flavour and spot on. The Veggie was average; it mainly consisted of the one ingredient pumpkin and didnt appeal overly to myself. All and all happy with price, service and atmosphere.

Was recently here for a day conference and was very very dissapointed I have been here on several occasions for conferences and functions and it was fantastic but unfortunately they have really dropped the ball food quality and service has really has really dissapeared the management has changed hands I’m lead to believe in which the german chap was so very arrogant and rude I just hope future functions are held else where or if anyone out there can tell me where the previous chefs and managers are now I would really appreciate the info! It’s a shame to see quills has started to fail it was definatley the best conference center in bendigo!

I don’t expect greatness at large functions. I’ve always been a fan of Quills and this was justified recently at a function I attended there. I am often disappointed with meals at large catered events (the steak is over cooked, the veges are cold etc), but this was fantastic. The service from the moment we got there was excellent. Canapes were served in a timely manner and well distributed throughout everyone attending. The meal was great and this was demonstrated by the number of empty plates going back to the kitchen. Well done

Too salty. Service abrupt. One waiter smelt of cigarettes.
