The lamb is processed sausage. Horrible. The chicken is tasty. Would not recommend eating here. So many nicer places around the area. Service is very slow snd careless.
Didn’t even get to taste the food. My friend and I ordered 2 takeaway meals and we’re told it would take 15 minutes. We sat outside waiting and another local mentioned they’d waited about an hour. The 50 minute mark came for us, still no food. It was busy and people dining in at tables looked like they were sitting waiting for food. At the 1 hour mark, starting to get agitated and over my hunger, we realised takeaway order numbers were now being called higher than our number? WHAT DID WE FIND OUT NEXT … our 2 orders were given away to another customer!! We asked for our money back. WE WILL NOT RETURN and barely an apology was given! OK AYIP we give this restaurant ZERO RATING!
After much ado about finding a good place to eat, we ended up in this restaurant. The service was very slow to start with as they are more inclined to serve the take away customers. The prices for take away are more than 25% cheaper than dine in menu. So if your not very hungry, I just you take the parcel home.
Talking about the food, the portions were fine as per their rate keeping the ambiance and decor in mind. The taste was average of what you get in any Turkish place. There isn’t much room for screwing up a plate of chicken and Lamb with rice. The Pide was fine too. All in all and average place to dine in as long as you don’t look at the take away prices.
Went to the Turkish with 8 people for a birthday, service was slow, we had to wait a long time to get drinks. Staff were friendly enough after they finally startes serving us drinks and meals. We had a dip platter for an entree it was quite nice although 19.95 for a bowl of turkish bread and dip is a bit expensive in my opinion.
The mains were quiet tasty i would recommend the chicken over the lamb as the lamb is dry and bland. Not the greatest turkish but certainly not the worst.
Had a Felafel Kebab yesterday that was good, decided to get another today but I was served by a a staff member who was sucking on the ends of his hoodie cords, letting them fall out of his mouth, and played with the cords while waiting for the Felafel to cook… then replaced them in his mouth…
The staff member then proceeded to handle the food he was preparing for me without washing his hands. I then went back to work and binned the entire meal.
Total disregard for food handling standards is why I won’t be returning to eat at Turkish Kitchen in Bendigo.
Clearly that’s $9.50 I wont be seeing again.
Decent Food But Terrible Customer Service. We went here a few weeks ago with my family and we were really disappointed with the long wait time for the food and also the demeanor of the waitress. We had to wait for about 45 for the food to come out even though the restaurant was empty. Some of the owners friends/family sat down and their food came immediately. To make matters worse, there was a misunderstanding about the type of platter we ordered when the food eventually did arrive. The waitress became really aggressive when I asked her if it was the correct platter. She sternly said this is what you ordered and walked away. It’s a shame because the food was decent.
Disappointing. Food was ok but it wasn’t that busy and should take over 30 minutes for the food to arrive at the table. Some minor quibbles with the bill also. Charged extra for sauce and having food from the takeaway menu in the restaurant. Wouldn’t recommend it.
