Great breakfast of scrambled eggs love the ambience too. It was like eating inside a bank with an officer (in this case- a waiter) watching you eat behind the counter. Such incredible height of ceiling, the bank was surprisingly tiny. Will be back someday.
very small place, but the atmosphere and the building was so awesome that we decided to wait for a table. and was very pleased we did. fantastic meal of slow cooked beef cheek. wines were great, nice and friendly staff. highly recommend.
The wine bank on view is nirvana for wine lovers. The selection of wines for purchase appear endless! The restaurant is set in an old bank hence the ambience is really special. The food is delicious and the service attentive which makes for nice experience. Recommend.
Fabulous wine bar, good tapas bar, terrible restaurant. The selection of beverages is wonderful, the ambience is beautiful, the bar snacks go well with the wines. But the kitchens main meals seem like overreach. Emu was tough as shoe leather, and the chicken special was a bad take on karaage, with the chicken still raw and the crust dreadfully oversalted and overseasoned. Floor staff need more experience of the food and wine too, as she was at a loss to recommend or comment on anything on the menu
This is one of my favourite places in Bendigo. Love the atmosphere and the reliably good food. Great for a midweek meal with friends. Staff know their business and are always happy to help with wine selection.
I just love historical buildings that have out-warn their original use and been redeployed for more
practical purposes, in this case from a bank to a restaurant/wine bar.
With top class quality wine bottles stacked all around, and an open fire to warm your heart (or butt) me thinks there you can’t get a much better environment to enjoy a meal.
The food probably didn’t quite measure up to the environment but was still delicious. The serves were generous and the menu imaginative with vegetables we don’t hear enough of such as silver beet and brussel sprouts.
Don’t miss checking it out if your passing through Bendigo.
Great ambience, this restaurant is situated an old bank after all. Excellent friendly service, and all around great food. Especially like the risotto with green peas.
