One word. Delicious. Shanikas never disappoints in both flavour & generous serving sizes.
One of my favourites is their lemon myrtle calamari with rocket & parmesan salad. So tender. I am also fond of the chicken scallopine with creamy mash. Yummy. I have been to several functions here too & the food & service was excellent. The dual entrances are great. Parking is much easier behind the restaurant than out the front on High Street.
Tables are fairly close together & as the restaurant is very popular it tends to be a bit noisy. Worth it for the food, though. Bookings are recommended.
Ive been a regular diner at Shanikas for many years now. The service and food has always been outstanding! Today, I dont know what happened. My girlfriend had to send her meal back. The meatballs were inedible due to the amount of salt. You could not taste ANYTHING else. After sending her meal back and ordering something else, no one apologised or wanted clarification around what the issue with her first meal was.
My meal was also drowned in salt. To the point where I was chewing on shards of sea salt. I ordered the salmon, not the ocean floor!
Water wasnt refilled and napkins werent placed on laps either. We decided against ordering coffee and desert due to the lack of service.
When we complained to our waitress upon paying, she seemed completely disinterested, even though she said the chef had agreed the meatballs were too salty.
Really disappointed due to the generally fantastic service and meals.

Service was prompt and meals came out very quickly. The calamari was tender and well seasoned and paired perfectly with the Parmesan and rocket salad.
The real standout was the chicken and walnut salad which had the most delicious honey dressing. The chicken was so tender and the walnuts added a nice crunch. Will be back, thanks guys
