Went fishing on Good Friday but wasnt a very good catch so called into Jims for a more reliable source of fish & chips. I have been to other fish and chip shops in the Blackburn area and been overall quite impressed and found Jims good also.
I skipped on chips and had battered flake, fish bites, potato cakes & a pineapple fritter. I realise now that I also had a meats filled steamed dimmy on Good Friday as well but I assume there is probably very little actual meat in these. Overall impressed with the taste and quality here. They were fairly busy and it did take about 25 minutes all up from order to arrival but I guess on days like today you have to accept a bit of a queue hey.
A very pleasant surprise to find this little gem. I’m on the road a lot so I have tried many of the local area take away options. The chips are the best going on the local scene (if you like home made, rough cut). Fish was delicious and fresh. Given the recent decline in quality and service at other local fishNchip shops I will definitely be back to this one.
I do miss my homeland and when I do, I have fish and chips!
I drive forty minutes to seek the delicious taste of lemon coated flake (I have never seen this in England) with golden chips!
One word: Delightful!
