I enjoy good Thai food. Found this local Thai restaurant and ordered take away for the family to try. We ordered a few stir fry noodle dishes. The tasteswere nice and not too spicy. It would have been better if the serving size could be more generous. My family and I wasn’t completely full after finishing a meal each. If the serving size was bigger, I will be a regular. Nevertherless, I would recommend this local Thai restaurant if you don’t want to travel too far.
We went in a group of ten people for dinner. At first glance Sawasdee may look slightly unappealing – but the food completely makes up for it. We shared many different entrees and mains and they were all delicious. The servings were large and the service was extremely fast. The only improvement that I would suggest would be to create a nicer ambience for the diners whilst enjoying their beautiful food. Would come back again.
Frozen rotting fish.. Very disappointing. Frozen rotten fish in dish , should never have been served. Concerned about food handling and cleanliness of kitchen and food turn over. Never again.
Just great!. Our first visit to Sawasdee but not our last. Food was lovely, service excellent.
Try the barramundi, it was excellent.
We will be back.
Did someone say jungle curry!:):):)

Enjoyed. Finally our kids are old enough to start enjoying a proper Thai meal! Sawasdee is great because they offer heat options to make it easier to find something suitable for the younger diner. The children very much enjoyed the roti, which was flaky as it should be, and had a lovely satay sauce to dip. The calamari were crispy and had a generous serve of hot sweet chilli sauce. Money bags too, crispy, not oily, had a sweet chilli sauce, but it was less hot (we think) than the one with the calamari.
My daughter and I enjoyed the Thom Kha (soup) with prawns, though I felt the straw mushrooms had an odd flavour – I like straw mushies usually but I could have done without them this time.
Gaeng Deng Ped – the duck curry, had a delicious flavour, and I could have had the liquid on it’s own. The few lychees added a lovely sweetness and flavour, the duck was perhaps a bit tough. We asked for this to be hot, it could have been hotter for me. Gaen Luung a yellow curry with chicken, pumpkin and carrot, which we requested mild, was fabulous, really good and would love to try it hot. A generous serve of coconut rice was a lovely side, and the dishes everything was served in are quite elegant. The table was dressed elegantly for that matter.
My favourite Thai dish is Num Tok – beef salad. Sawasdee has a generous serve of beef, and it was generous with chilli – great. My only concern with this dish (apart from preferring my beef very rare) was the cabbage underneath it all was somewhat gluggy. It was so finely shredded that it wasn’t crunchy, and didn’t really add to the dish.
Pad Thai (chicken) was thoroughly enjoyed by the family, but I admit I’ve had better.
Apart from a hiccup where number one son asked for chocolate ice cream and was presented with coconut, the desserts were well received. The error was quickly remedied, and he went on to enjoy his two scoops, as did other number one son who enjoyed his mango ice cream. Two of us had the custard – a baked custard, which some may find a bit ‘eggy’ in flavour. It was quite nice, the coconut ice cream with it was delicious.
Reasonable value, friendly service, mostly delicious food, would absolutely go again.
Service excellent food good too. Dined with family last Saturday night and were impressed. Water brought to table immediately, wine bucket supplied without being asked for, crockery delightful and service excellent. We ordered Thai prawn cakes, curry puffs and chicken satay as entrees – all were very tasty but disappointingly the satay was cold. Main was red curry with beef and stir fry pork and vegetables together with enough rice for 4. Again, very tasty, good flavouring and served hot. My only criticism was the cost of the rice – over $4 per head for a small bowl each – inflation at its highest. The other items were reasonably priced so a surprise to see such a mark-up for such a vital side dish. Dessert was hot coconut custard with ice-cream – beautifully presented and yummy. We will eat there again but not for a while.
