This is almost our weekly treat for the family. Delicious and authentic Thai food that is as good as it gets when it comes to using local ingredients. Menu covers all the classic dishes with our favourites Chicken pad Thai cooked to perfection and the pad kra proaw spice and flavour leaving you reminiscing of that long overdue Thai holiday.
Located on Canterbury Road Blackburn, Sawasdee is not obviously noticed unless you look for it. Decent ambience of Thai designs adorn the walls with King Rama V portrait too. Seating is average and well lit up restaurant.6/10
Wine list is ok with good mentions of reds , whites , spirits. Corkage isnt too out of whack.6/10
We requested entrees and mains at the same time. We ordered satay chicken, Thom yum soup, Larb Gai, Thai green curry and sweet chilly cashew stir fry. The food was extraordinary…tasty full of spice , aroma, flavour and texture. The most I liked was Thom yum soup and Larb Gai. Green curry with steamed rice was delicious too.8/10
Did not have any apetite for deserts but I guess they would be good too.

The most unauthentic Thai meal I’ve had. I ordered Pad Thai. If I had wanted a Chinese veggie stir-fry with noodles, I would not have gone to a Thai restaurant and ordered Pad Thai. Tasted nothing like it. Maybe their other dishes are better.
