Bought a large coffee to see what the new cafe on the block is like before going there for food. Unfortunately it wasn’t a good first impression. $5 for a large which is more than i get charged in the CBD and the quality needs to be better if they expect to charge the premium pricetag. Wattery and not much taste either bittery or smooth, just average. Gourmet Girl next door was doing a roaring trade and would still be my go-to place in that area.
The Smash n Hash is one of the best brekkies Ive had! Got the eggs fried instead of poached and added some mushrooms (obligatory for me), and I loved every single bite of this dish. Coffee was good, would love to come back and try some sweets sometime. Cant recommend this place enough, its what Laburnum needed.

this new cafe just opened near the train station and the food offered is so delightful. the staff are really friendly and the location is perfect. definetly reccomend this nice cafe.
I would love to say that this cafe was as awesome as it looks from the outside but the coffee was bitter and the milk was over heated and the hot chocolate was lacking in flavour. A bit over priced for a large coffee (which is the same size a medium from other cafes) and small hot chocolate.
Hopefully in time they will adjust prices and get the coffee just right. We will see.
This place is really cute and nicely tucked away in Blackburn, not to mention walking distance from Laburnum Station. The gift shop is a nice addition to the cafe; its decor is simple yet stylish. Staff were friendly and polite during our meal. My bf and I both got the spiced baked beans with chorizo, spinach, poached eggs & Turkish bread – was very filling and had just the right amount of spice on the baked eggs. My only critique was that I felt that the beans were slightly undercooked, but regardless it was a pleasant meal. Would definitely return.
The scrambled eggs at this cafe are delicious however we have found that the size of the meals differs depending on how many people you are with (and generally not in a good way). Also, nothing else on the menu has ever taken our fancy – there is not much variety and there hasnt been any menu changes recently.
food and coffee are nice! And they have my favorite coffee been AllPress. However, the barista used 10mins only make 2 coffee…. you cant image how slow it is! And he even made a wrong size!!
