Friendly service, tasty breakfast and good coffee. Good sized menu with both breakfast and lunch options which is hard to come by these days, a lot of places seem to concentrate on breakfast offerings.

This is our new favourite place for breakfast. The Rosti is delicious, crunchy crispy outside with a perfect herby soft inside matched with perfectly poached egg, spinach, mushrooms, avo and grilled tomato. The owner loves great food and clearly delights in providing his customers with a great dining experience. We want to go there everyday.

With a number of cafes in the area to choose from there needs to quality in your food and coffee, which was lacking a little. The corn fritters were way too heavy, oily and spongy, but the flavors were there, and staff were super friendly. Coffee just ok.

Located by South Parade Rd, near the corner of Gardenia St, this simple small cafe is just across Blackburn station with a good stream of customers.

The longer wait was worth it for a hearty Veggie Stack which was beautifully presented and delicious with the generous portion of cooked veggies and haloumi.

Coffee was rich & full flavoured.

Price was in the above range but reasonable. Staff there were friendly too.

Urban Zinc is a snug cafe opposite Blackburn train station. With only a handful of inside tables we were lucky enough to grab two seats around midday. The staff were young and friendly and I love the decor with it’s rustic walls. I ordered a golden latte and the vegetable stack with scrambled eggs. Both were great! The latte was well made – it had an essence of turmeric and honey without the grit turmeric can sometimes provide. The stack looked and tasted great. It was well lathered in pesto (probably a little too much oil tho) and the vegetables were well done – particularly the pumpkin. The only downside to the cafe is the menu. Whilst it provides a great variety of options, they are all very run of the mill at high prices. Other cafes in the area offer a far more exquisite menu at the same price with lovely decor and more seating. OverallI it’s a great cafe with good food and lovely staff but it has a fair way to go to before it’s one of the best in the area.

What a solid cafe. My fiance and I came here on a Sunday morning after a night out and unlike most friends of mine, I don’t crave a big cooked breakfast the morning after. I crave clean and wholesome and their quinoa porridge hit the nail on the head. It was smooth and creamy and the berry compote was just the right contrast in flavor. They were very accommodating when I asked if it was possible to have fresh banana added to the dish. It felt cleansing and delicious all at once. My fiance ordered one of the burgers and it looked great.
The cafe has such a cool, chilled vibe. I’m only walking distance away and they’ll definitely see me again

Drawn into the cafe by the rustic decor, presence of espresso and the fact it was open.

One of those usually ensures a decent iced coffee and toasted Sandwich. Unfortunately this was not to be.

The iced coffee had no ice and consisted of milk which i would describe as being slightly cool. Think milk left out of the fridge for two hours. The only other condiment was a single scoop of 50% melted ice cream. This became 100% melted within a minute with no subsequent change in milk temperature.

What was left was slightly cool coffee flavoured milk with a thin insulating layer of melted ice cream on top.

This was served with warm ham and tomato and firm cheese between two pieces toast.

Overall two stars. One for actually receiving the food and the other for the golfball sized complementary muffin.
