I was reluctant at first to have lunch at a swimming pool cafe but since we were there and hungry after a swim, we gave it a go and was pleasantly surprised. The menu is small but what we’ve tried so far (eggs bennie, avo stack, burger) has been tasty and the prices reasonable.
It is one of the best things about the new look aqualink centre. The setting is clean and modern, the food is fresh and while it’s not the best coffee I’ve tried, as a regular, more times than not, it’s on par with other offerings in the area. And the staff are always friendly.
Three times disappointed, won’t be back.. When the owner makes the coffee it is very good. However, when he is not on the machine, the coffee I have had is undrinkable! I kept going back because it is close and I am all for giving another go. Today was my last straw. When I asked the girl what she was putting in my coffee and told me it was Bi-Carb Soda because the coffee was too fresh it would curdle the soy milk, then told me the coffee was only 2 days old. Instead of putting Bi-Carb Soda in, wouldn’t it just be easier to age Axil Coffee like they do to 7 days which reduces the acidity and soy milk won’t curdle? I am a bit over paying $5 for a medium takeaway soy fw with lumpy soy and rude girls behind the counter!!
Overpriced
Yum. Good food, good service, lovely clean and bright surrounds. Unexpectedly delightful. House-made food was awesome. But what really made it were the attentive counter staff, who listen and smile and engage with customers – seems to be a lost art these days, so surprising to find it at a cafe with a captive audience. This is a cafe I’d drive to, just to enjoy, even if not participating in any activities at the centre.
