If you are the owner and reading this, I really hope you take a good hard look at the surrounding eateries. David & Camy Dumpling was one of the most popular place for dumplings. I am very disappointed and upset with how it had all changed since you bought over 3 years ago.
1) dumplings was not cooked thru
2) the spring onion pancake was triple fried & oily
3) the tea flask is a joke, what is with the silver duct tape around the neck of all your tea flask
These are just a few of the obvious.
Below average dumplings. I like the xiao long bao but theyre quite small. The shanghai fried noodles lacked flavour. Just your typical Chinese dumpling restaurant.
Fast service but not Friendly staff. We had dandan noodle and fried chicken with chilly. Noodle didn’t have a lot of flavour and fried chicken was tiny with small bone in it and it come with insane amount of chilly which was more than chicken.
When other dumpling joints are packed, while one remains half empty (or half full however you like to see it), you know there’s something to be wary of. David & Camy used to be so much better, but on my most recent visit, I was left rather disappointed and definitely not in a rush to return.
The steamed pork dumplings were average – generously stuffed with meat but the dumpling skin was nothing to write home about, and overall lacking in flavour. The pork and prawn wonton noodle soup fared slightly better. The addition of prawns to the wontons gave it a subtle sweetness, and the wonton skin was thin and silky. The broth and noodle, however, was lacklustre in taste.
The fried rice cakes were an oily lump of mess, but luckily not completely unpalatable. The pork chop and egg noodle soup was also just alright. The pork chop was seasoned well, and was tender. It was however, let down by the bland-tasting broth.
Food came out really quick, a bit too quickly for my liking. Makes me wonder what sort of cooking was taking place in the kitchen.
Ending on a positive note, good value for money and incredibly filling.
