Love love their pastry pork bun and egg tarts here. It is quick and easy to order and Asian treats from here. You just point to them what you want, ta-da! Pretty affordable too.
A little shop selling lots of different Chinese pastries including BBQ pork puffs (char siew sou), egg tarts and chicken pies. There are lots of other pastries but these are some of our favourites here and we usually buy some home when we’re in Box Hill.
These are by no means gourmet pastries, but they’re simple, traditional and reasonably priced, and I think lots of the local Chinese in the area like it that way. The BBQ pork puffs and egg tarts are the same as what you’ll find at Dim Sum restaurants, and the chicken pie has a slightly sweet crust and a tasty interior. All are best eaten reheated in an oven, but they taste pretty good in a microwave as well. Good place to find some old school favourites.
I picked up a chicken pie from here as part of a collaboration with box hill central. Given this is a dessert shop I probably shouldnt be surprised that it was a super sweet pastry that was kind of at odds with its savoury filling. A nice enough snack
