An awesome variety of Asian cuisines found in one place. Cant ask for anything more Also, Im glad that #dessertstory hasnt completely disappeared! (I know theres one in the city but the ones in Richmond, Hawthorn and Box Hill have all closed down) Anyway, food comes out pretty quickly after you order. Theres a sense of fast-pace in the somewhat noisy atmosphere, kind of like what youd expect at a food court.

We went to KR as part of our invitation to sample restaurants at box hill central. This is a hawker style venue with dishes available from various different kitchens that you order from via a form. There is also a very handy button located on the tables should you require anything, all very efficient.

I was feeling very full but opted for some steamed prawn and chive dumplings. These were actually delicious and packed full of flavour. My husband ordered the fried chicken as well as a soup, we were impressed by how reasonable the prices were and the chicken in particular was quite a generous portion that he couldnt finish.

Our friends went for some more traditional dishes, soup dumplings and a noodle dish which they very much enjoyed. If you are after variety this is an excellent choice of venue

Not sure why were the average reviews that low. Maybe they have too many stalls and too much dishes to choose from, theres always a hit and miss. We specially travelled from west to box hill to give this a try. Ordered original xiao long bao, stewed pork trotters, prawn fried rice, XXL chicken cutlet. Xiao long bao was juicy and meat was flavourful. The only complaint is that skin is a little thick given that its named under Crystal Jade. Stewed pork trotter was well flavoured but I am not a fan if it as it has alot more skin than meat. The mister ate all up. Was so-so, not fantastic. Prawn fried rice was good, prawns were crunchy and feels fresh. XXL chicken cutlet that taste better than Hot Stars. Made with chicken thigh, no bones and the batter tasted better. Very crunchy and juicy. Then we ordered 2 desserts which was both good. The herbal jelly base of the dessert that I got was a little hard (as in there is a texture rather than like a bean curd jelly), taste a like a hybrid of gui ling gao and grass jelly. Its quite nice, different texture as the grass jelly in Meet Fresh taiwanese dessert.

The service was fast and frieny. The food was very delicious and authentic. We ordered Taiwanesw beef noodles, juicy dumpling and wonton in soup. All were tasty and satisfying.

Wow… so delicious! Dont expect good service but the amazing food makes up for it. We have been here before, and wasnt the best but my whole perspective changed after this visit. The shai long bao truffle met every good criteria of a good Xiao long bao, juicy center, flavoursome meat, good texture pastry! Then we had pan friend Shanghainese bun and was the best one I ever had in melbourne. Will definitely be back to have it all again!!

Loads of variety but service is questionable. The staff are rude and reach over you when you are eating to replenish cutlery etc. do they have to do that when a paying customer is eating? Its rude and not acceptable! Also it doesnt hurt to smile once in a while…enough said.

    food 3/5
    service 2/5
    environment 2/5

The store In boxhill shopping center South Part. The small steam bun is the best dish in here, which means the others are too plain. the service response is too slow and the table is not clean at all.
