Going by the name Mister Dorayaki, I would have thought that this place specialises in Japanese snacks. However the products on offer are predominantly Taiwanese, with one or two HK and Japanese snacks (the namesake dorayaki) thrown in.
My partner and I got one each of the , and while I found the batter fairly dense, I enjoyed the crispy edges. The red bean filling trumped the durian filling, which did smell wonderful but was lacking in durian flavour.
The hand-made cookies were unfortunately too hard and rather dry. I couldn’t fault the generous fillings though, and the flavours were spot on.
The HK egg waffle had the same thin crispy edges as the obanyaki, but the texture was again too dense and cakey.
A number of customers were purchasing the snow skin moon cakes and so maybe those are what I should have gotten instead. Maybe next time!
The egg waffle and custard profiteroles I ordered were very nice. Pretty good find. Now I won’t have to go to Springvale for my egg waffle fix.
