Have been to the one in glenwaverly before & thought to check out the boxhill one since it was closer to me. I went with a friend & it took us a little bit of time to find it but we got there in the end. When we arrived it was busy but there were still seats available. As soon as we sat down we started getting stuff off the sushi train. A major difference between this one & glenwaverly is that glenwaverly has an ordering tablet which I think is great! However I think box hill had more variety available. They had all the typical stuff you find at a sushi train but also had hot food such as calamari, tempura & sweet potato chips, a greater variety of dessert and a lot more!

Best aspect about this place would have to be the chef! This dude is so friendly and cool! The waiters were slow and not attentive but he was willing to take our order. Bloke should get a pay rise. Sushi was good!

#Sushitrain in Box Hill. Menu is reasonably priced with a good variety of dishes. Service is so-so but what bugged me was how unhygienic it looked when some of the plates on the conveyor belt didnt have lids on top of them and there was a fly buzzing around.

I was invited to dine at restaurants in box hill central and chose Sushi Jiro because I love a good sushi train and quite frankly Im not sure why I was yet to pay them a visit. This is pretty typical stuff all plates $3.80 and premium plates a higher price, whatever you like you can also order off the menu if you cant see it on the train. This turned out to be a good option for me as I accidentally pulled what I thought was seared salmon off the train and it turned out to be crab.
I found the food enjoyable and quick and easy. There were also quite a few tempting dessert options available. Standard sushi train situation

Sushi trains are one of my favourite places to go to. I liked how big this one is. Most sushi trains in Melbourne are really small and clustered but this one seated at least 50 people. Most plates are $3.80 excluding the more premium plates (aka sashimi and better quality fish) which range from $4.00-$8.00. $3.80 a plate isnt too bad compared to some other places however the quality of the sushi isnt that great. I wouldnt say its bad and I could defs keep eating without hating it but this is really quantity over quality. The rice is quite dry on all the sushi. The fish isnt as fresh as it should be. There is quite a variety of the dishes to pick from. My favourite were the toro which was melt in your mouth (a bit more pricier), the soft shell crab taco and all of the salmon plates.

Overall, would I return? Yes, if Im craving some cheap quality sushi.
