Waiting outside you can get some sort of stench from the drainage but once you walk in there’s a lovely tea aroma in the air. I got their Tastea pearl milk tea and from what others have said their rice jelly is something else, I got that included also.
I asked for less sugar and less ice, according to their spectrum that’s half ice and nearly half sugar. Firstly there was a lot of ice and secondly it was blindingly sweet. My friend who got half sugar concurred whereas my other friend said it was just right. Conclusion is that whoever made mine wasn’t paying attention to the labels. It pretty much tasted like a sweet syrupy milk, couldn’t taste the tea at all.
On the plus side the pearls were great as were the rice jelly which were slippery chewy worms. Wish I could rate it higher but it was botched, potential was definitely there though.
Yet another bubble tea shop in Boxhill……which is great for bubble tea addicts like myself! Tastea is a run of the mill store with the usual bubble tea menu items. They don’t particularly stand out from the other newer bubble tea shops. It is located conveniently along Whitehorse Road and is open late into the night. Service is always pretty efficient.

Passion Fruit Pomelo @25% Sugar = Too sweet ! Original Milk Tea with Pearls @ 25% Sugar = Just about right
Quick service. Perfect on a hot summers day
Another day and yet another bubble tea craving. Both my partner and I really enjoyed our options here, me with my sweetened milk drink and her with the red bean special. Good service too.
I feel like there are 583883828 thousand bubble tea places in Melbourne and its pretty much an ongoing hunt for me to find the best taro milk tea place.
Anyways, due to Coco in Box Hill being sooooo crowded all the time (Coco is my fave so far, their taro milk tea is to die for) we decided to go to Tastea. Its not packed at all and service is quite quick. Theres a lot of different drinks to pick from! I ordered the taro milk tea. Tbh, its just not up to scratch with Coco. Its very diluted. Its not as flavoursome and the taro flavour is very subtle. Overall, will I be coming back? Probably will just stick to Coco.
I loved how so many parts of the drink could be customised! The line moves quickly and theres a large menu to choose from. Great flavours available with all the toppings youd expect and more! Yum!!
