Ordered an omelet there. 45 min later never came. No explanation for why though apology was given. Very disappointed. If you go make sure you check in with the staff after 15 min if your food doesn’t arrive rather than wait & give them benefit of the doubt that everything is fine.
This cafe has a captive audience of health workers and patients, being right next to Box Hill Hospital. It has a lovely fit out, decent coffee, and food that I would choose above the hospital Cafe’s food on any day of the week, though lacking some attention to detail (my pie arrived stone cold today!). The main issue is that the staff often seem vague and confused, which makes me wonder if they are being well managed. This is fine most of the time, but gets frustrating during lunch hour when the queue to order is snaking out the door and they don’t seem to know which way is up!
Still, I would prefer anything to zouki, and I have taken refuge here to gather my thoughts on a crazy day many times.

Buzzing cafe next to the hospital. Ordered the avocado with scrambled eggs and added hash brown. Was nice enough but way too much egg and not enough avocado mixture. Felt very rushed. Chai latte was alright but nothing out of the ordinary. Is a nice cafe but probably wouldn’t head out of my way to drop in.
Temperate coffee coupled with the usual fare of prepared cafe style food is the order of the day here. Better than the hospital cafe however and hence the attraction for many finding themselves in the precinct.
Great cafe! Working at the hospital across the road, we come here often and it’s hands down the best coffee in the area. They do great food as well and always have interesting options including salads. The staff are always warm and friendly and service is efficient. A favourite among hospital staff, definitely recommended!
Love your coffee & friendly staffs, will be back again!. Best coffee this side of town served by lovely staffs. Love the ambience, especially the outdoor terrace seating. Definitely my new fav coffee joint.
