Breakfast for us at What You Eat Cafe. We ordered pancakes, fruit toast and coffees. All very good. The size of the pancakes beat some of us, so we were not hungry at the end.
It hurts to say this as ‘What you Ea’t is one of the only, if not the only, vego cafe in the North East area, BUT, it is NOT GOOD. The food, the menu, the service are all terribly disappointing. The ‘healthier’ items are basically a lot of leaves so you are just left with vegan ‘junk food’ which is not done well either. I ordered a salad that was basically a full head of iceberg lettuce with minimal toppings one of which was very unripe, hard avocado. Less than enjoyable. The ‘dressing’ that was on the side just tasted like soy sauce. Not something you would really want on a salad. The waitress we had didn’t seem all to impressed about taking our order or bringing our food, even though that is her job. They are not even welcoming when you go in! The change of ownership has ruined this cafe. After giving this cafe the benefit of the doubt, I will not be returning.
