Had the har mee. It was really diluted and the spice over topped the flavour – made my tummy really bad. Service was pretty bad also. They took awhile to take our order even though there was not many people in the restaurant. No wonder not many asians eat here. The waiting staff didn’t even know what bean shoots were. Wouldn’t come back.
Service was quick and friendly and for that I rated the restaurant a 2. Food was ordinary at best. Lamb curry appeared to be meat and boiled potatoes covered in the sauce rather than cooked in the sauce.Potatoes were still white and had not absorbed the colour of the curry sauce. The curry was rated a 2 chiilies dish but would be lucky to even be a one. Chicken sate – sauce was nice but again seemed to be like sauce added to pre cooked chicken. Food came out far too quickly to believe that it had been freshly cooked. Very disappointing meal. We shall not be eating there again.
A real winner, polite prompt service food mostly good , nothing that was bad just varied from amazing to okay. The roti chanai lamb was definitely the standout could eat this dish everyday of the week. Recommended
I’m well aware that food in the Brighton area is usually rated better than it is. If you are a Melbourne foodie this will not suffice! The prawn curry ($28) was not cooked as a dish, with ingredients added to a pre-prepared sauce which was more like a soup than a curry. The laksa was too salty yet somehow bland at the same time, and didn’t taste freshly made.My friend and I both had slight stomach aches afterwards. I’ll be heading to Prahran or Richmond next time despite the drive time.
Absolutely amazing, we were recommended to come here from the RAAF Williamtown intranet and we were not disappointed. The food is incredibly authentic – takes us back to the days of curry in bags and stained fingers from roti chanai. More importantly was the impeccable service and attentiveness, particularly with our 18 month old toddler, nothing was a problem. I can’t recommend them more highly – try the roti, chicken curry and char kway teow, the best!!
Great food, good service. Nice interior.
Have been back several times.
Great to have a reasonably priced restaurant, with BYO, in an area replete with overpriced cafes.
Keep up the good work.
Service quality can vary, and the venue can be noisy. The food is always appetising and in quantity, featuring variations on Malaysian cuisine without being experimental. A favourite.
