Two stars is only because the initial waitress that served me was lovely. Thats where it ends. My fish was undercooked and soggy, and essentially inedible. The batter was like a gooey mush and not crispy at all. It tasted terrible. Upon letting the person in charge know, I was offered a coffee or dessert. I declined, yet at no point was offered a refund for the meal and essentially left having paid for a meal that was awful, and hungry. Would never go back.
Hotel Brighton is bustling on an otherwise quiet street and a very hot day! The front bar was full and the dining room out the back was a cool respite from the heat. The ladies responsible for the table service are friendly and attentive to your needs. Despite the small menu, the food was absolutely beautiful and I cant recommend the pork belly enough! Will be returning soon.
Theres apparently vegan options but I fail to see how sweet potato fries and steamed veggies make this place vegan friendly. Need to consider putting in at least a decent main meal.
Went in for dinner last night, I am giving a rating of 1.0 as it won’t allow me to do 0.
It was a nice night so the 4 of us were set up outside, we had a drink then ordered our meals.
After they brought them out, we were told that we could not sit there, then were told not to worry about it, we could stay.
Then the manager came out and said we could not sit out there and eat and he moved us inside claiming the new smoking laws said he had to do it.
There was one other couple out there enjoying a drink and nobody was smoking.
It was parma night so 3 of us ordered the parmas, we all agreed it was the cheapest tasting shit parma we had ever had.
The chicken was gross, sauce was plain, ham was crap and so to was the cheese. The salad was straight out of a coles bag.
My wifes main size calamari was very small, i would hate to have seen the entree.
Service was also very average and slow, and it was clearly too difficult for the rude waitress to even bring some water to the table for us.
The 4 of us will never go back again, overpriced and under delivered with young, inexperienced and unprofessional staff both front of house and in the kitchen.
Outright awful food. They served one of the worst Parmas Ive ever eaten. I literally cant think of anything positive to say about the dish. Burnt, gross sauce, cheap chips and extremely bad salad. $24 for the Parma, what a joke! Wont return.
We arrived here for dinner without a reservation. The place was packed but thankfully, they were able to fit us in. We ordered the Seafood Linguini and the Veal Scallopini, along with a side of seasonal vegetables. Both dishes were fantastic. All of the staff were courteous, friendly and helpful in recommending what to choose from the menu. Overall, we experienced a great evening here. Will certainly be back.
Went for lunch yesterday with a friend. Service was excellent and the staff friendly and welcoming. Burger was spot on as was the Kilkenny on tap! Lovely local unpretentious pub.
