Booked a table for 8 on Friday night. A little wary because others have pointed to long waiting times for food, but we had a really good night. With so many of us it was easier to go with the tasting menu. The fact that two of the party don’t eat red meat was readily accommodated without them missing out. There was a little bit of a wait early on but once the dishes started coming out it was quite slick. Really very nice food and plenty of it. The star of the show was the sushi/sashimi platter at the end which the chef brought out himself. At $35 a head the set menu was fantastic value. I can’t write about how authentic the food was – I’ve been to Japan a couple of times but certainly not an expert – but it was of good quality, plenty of flavours and generous serves. The boss ran the floor attentively and his staff, while not exhuberant, were efficient and attentive. We’ll be back.

We love dining at Banzai. The food is always fresh, superbly presented, and delicious. Very well priced for the quality. You can also have a good conversation as it’s not too loud. Highly recommended!

Food is ok, but not worth paying. We ordered the yaki Udon which was $20, and it tasted like normal udon you get at a typical noodle shop. Slow service too. Also, we got a super weird vibe with the sashimi chef coming out to chat to these other middle aged ladies and giving them free drinks. We were the only other table in the restaurant and a bit weird that he offered to that table and not us as well. Even more awkward was when the ladies rejected his offer of free drinks. Weird weird awkward weird. Food is ok tho.

Had dinner here with some friends last night. Got edamame and some sushi to start and then the other three in my group ordered chicken, beef and salmon don curry and I had a ramen. Food was quite nice and the variety was big. My ramen didn’t have the best broth that I’d tasted but it was delicious never the less. Bill came to $120 and when we said to the owner we wanted to split it with two cards, he was not happy. In the end we agreed to give him a bit more to make two payments.
