Beautiful bar. Had quite a few dishes on the menu and all were really lovely. Great selection of cheeses and cured meats – dumplings were amazing! Great selection of wine, staff friendly and helpful.
Wow wow wow. I’m not precious but I find Brunswick a little dodgy and in need of gentrification. We stumbled across the dark tinted glass and wooden blinds of Bouvier and gently pushed the door to see what was inside. Wow, what an Oasis. Our faces lit up like we were kids in a candy store. The decor is en pointe, a very long bar, abundance of chic tables and seating surrounding by elegant tiling. The owner/manager on duty was super friendly and was ever so helpful with the menu. There is an excellent wine list with a few small boutique producers on there which I thoroughly endorse. There is also an excellent bites menu with an especially beautiful mix of imported cheeses and charcuterie. I can’t wait to come back.
The place is tastefully decked out without being too stuffy. A great drinking hole with friendly service and tasty food. Huw’s cocktails are excellent, and Bruce will never forget your name.
Outstanding! This place is a primarily a cocktail/wine bar but in addition to that the food really is great. Terrific attention to detail across the board; food, drinks, service, decor etc. are all spot on. We were particularly impressed by how two bar staff maintained a really high standard even as the place got busier and busier. They were helpful and had the time patience and knowledge to guide us through their drinks list and help match our food and wine choices. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and recommend this place for quality eats, drinks and great relaxed service.
Unlike a normal dinning experience, I attended a Christmas function at Bouvier, which adds more complexity to the menu & service. First of the service was outstanding with friendly staff that makes or breaks any event.
The food was plentiful, with the highlight being pork suckling and Beef Fillet was cooked to perfection, which is no mean feat. Served rare, was rested perfectly and was sensational.
Highly recommended, and I am looking forward to hearing back under my own steam.
Popped in to this new local for drinks, had 4 dishes from the bar menu. Service good, food surprisingly good and prices reasonable. Recommended and a good addition to the area – deserves to do well.
Fantastic addition to the area!! We had cocktails, wine and a variety of the share plates. Such an all round, positive experience! We will be back (regularly) 🙂
