What more can I say? Great night out, awesome burgers, and a phenomenal selection of beers. It’s typical brunswick fair, so if you like that, you’ll love the Alehouse project.
Cherry & Pear Cider – found my new drink , large selection of beers and variety of food to go with . Great venue for catch up with friends.
This is a great place to come with mates to watch a game or chat over some beers (which change almost every week). The food is good and is better than your average bar fare.
Food is nothing special but the main interest here is the beers.
12 taps of great craft beers and several more on bottles.
Most of them are very good reason to come here.
Food portions are small and slightly expensive.
Service is great.
Decor is simple.
Ambience is good.
Come for the beer, eating here is optional.
Nice beer selection but underwhelming food. I found the staff helpful and pleasant, if not particularly chatty. A decent spot for an afternoon beer but head out onto Lygon for dinner.
GREAT beer, TERRIBLE service and atmosphere. GREAT beer selection but horrible service and atmosphere. Unfortunate that this had to be the place to host some of my favourite NZ breweries for Good Beer Week. Why write on the wall that you want to encourage people to ask to taste beers, if when they do you respond in a bad tempered and surly manner? Is giving them an inch of foam in a glass and staring at them with barely disguised contempt a good way to treat customers? When you’re spending over $100 in a place at $10 a pot…good beer only goes so far and there’s plenty of other friendly pubs around Melbourne that don’t make you feel like a leper. The food’s slipped quite a bit in the last couple of years. Used to be inventive and interesting, now it’s just okay. Not good value either – a handful of chips beside a $15 burger is fairly scabby. Been there around a half dozen times and it gets worse each time…that’ll be my last visit.
