I had a function at the Duke of Edinburgh Hotel in the upstairs room.
The room itself was lovely, plenty of food and the staff were nice. However, the were several instances with the service at the bar.
Every time I went and got a drink, the glasses were hot therefore making the temperature of my wine warm which was not pleasant to drink. It got to the point that I requested if I could have a glass of wine in my old glass.
Within the hour they ran out of wine and every time I asked for a moscato they said they had to go down stairs to get it with the wait time about 5 minutes. The guests that attended were predominantly female as it was a young ladies 21st birthday so it was quite odd that they had low supplies of wine.
When the bar tab ran out and guests had to pay for their drinks, they didnt have many options.
I asked for a shot of vodka (at my own expense) and was declined and told they dont do that. I then asked for a vodka sunrise and they then said that they dont have orange juice and they only have Soda water and if we wanted it we would have to wait for them.
The staff working at the bar were nice, However it is their duty to recognise when stock levels are low and to refill PRIOR to people asking for it. I wanted to enjoy my time dancing and not constantly waiting around. Guests acknowledge that the bar tab will run out and they will purchase their own drinks if they wish, they therefore need more options to drink from and more mixers available.

bad service bad staff member namely the male waiter aged in eighteen short male and he is a bogan he attempts to bait you to fight him and he uses bogan language clearly ill educated individual hating on the world needs to be fired indian manager of the venue stunk of beer and refused to refund me as i was given sea food and i have severe reactions to sea food i was given fish after advising staff of allergies i would avoid this place like the plague used to be a good venue they removed the nice couches and made it more of a gambling venue bogan staff bad service bad experience i would rate the place a zero literally for you and your friends and familys safety dont attend the venue there isnt even a security guard sad place now
Great honest food. Went in on a Monday for the 2 for 1 promotion and it was great. Ordered a kids cheese burger and the burger was cooked to perfection unlike some other places dry and cold. Definitely will be returning. Friendly staff
Have come to the Duke on many occasions and enjoy the food here. Specials are great – mainly the $15 Steak and 2 for 1 mains. Chefs are friendly and take pride in their work but the same can’t be said for staff. Always have to wait a long time to be seated when there is hardly any customers in the dining area. The previous time my partner and I came for dinner we waited so long that we just decided to order at the counter. We ordered and paid and went to take a seat, however we forgot to ask our server which table he had put our bill on. We were about to have a seat when other patrons came and said that they booked that particular table, no problem, we’ll just go back to our server and ask him what number our table was. Suddenly someone who I presumed was a manager called out from the other side of the room rudely and asked us what our table number was. I told her, we’re not sure so we’ll go ask. She scoffed and asked us again what table number we were given and I explained to her we were just finding that out and to give us a second. She rudely eyeballed us as my partner went to enquire about our number and rolled her eyes when we took a seat. Just ruined the whole night for us. If we see her working, won’t be in for dinner!
I always find this pub so friendly affordable and food is very clean and fresh…..big thankyou to the staff…

The seafood platter for 2 was delicious and my favourite were the eggplant chips yummy. To end the night indulge in heavenly coffee and cake.
