Pies and more. After a busy afternoon battling the crowds and buying up big at nearby Mediterranean Wholesalers, a quick and filling lunch was called for. My fellow food shopper spotted this simple bakery with its claim of the best sandwiches in Sydney Rd. The couple sitting at a street table had food which looked good, so we took the chance and were pretty happy with the results.
Two huge wholemeal sandwiches made fresh and packed with fillings plus two drinks were less than $20. The ham and cheese toastie had heaps of flavour. My roast vegetable and cheese one was so good that my friend ate the other half despite declaring she was already full halfway through her own. Coffee was decent too.
And the service was sensational – fast, friendly and thoughtful. Water outside the fridge – fine. Toasted sandwiches turned to cook perfectly. Expertly handling the waves of people walking in and getting their orders through quickly. This business deserves to do well.
Dry Pies :(. I was very disappointed with the pies here considering their signage. I have tried several different variety of pie but have found all of them to be dry and tasteless. I would suggest putting a water dish in the pie oven to stop the pies drying out so much. they become inedible without a drink.
Disappointing. I’ll be kind and say both pies that I had were average. Avoid.
Best pies in Melb!. Amazing food!!! Love the salad sandwiches and my favourites are the pies especially the chicken and wine! Would recommend 100%! The staff are so friendly and always have smiles on their faces 🙂 Have a try and check out Georgie pie!!! YUUUUUUMMMMMMMM

I CANT STOP!. I work across the road from Georgie Pie and never has a day gone by where i havent either bought a chicken n wine pie (absolutely to die for!) or one of their huge freshly made sandwiches… highly recommend this place if youre a pie lover, friendly service and delicious food 🙂
