I have visited this restaurant couple of times but the last time i visited the preparation and the quality of the food was really disappointing. Me and my friends ordered indian veggie dish( Dal makhni) which was nowhere close to the real veggie in taste. Moreover, the dishes we ordered were not served HOT. Just want to add one last thing the restaurant is not taking care of their food quality and their customers.
It’s not the best of Pakistani food I have had in Melbourne but it is enjoyable nonetheless. Chicken boti is really yum. Beef nihari was a bit weird and biryani though tastey was scarce in chicken. Service was average. This my second visit to S&S and I am not quite impressed.
I had chicken korma with rice, which was ok for the price in my opinion.
But the restaurant has a major problem in staffs attitude. When I went into the restaurant, I saw one of the staff and said one person please. He did absolutely nothing but just standing there glaring at me with his arms folded. So I just decided to choose a seat by myself and sat there waiting for the staff to bring menu for maybe 5 minutes, but nothing happened so I said could you bring the menu?. Then the staff finally pointed where the menu was located, without saying anything. The restaurant was definitely not busy because there was only one group other than myself, so it should have been easy for him to notice that Im waiting for something (the staff just kept folding arms and glaring around btw).
I wanted to drink water as well but the glass was incredibly filthy and I couldnt drink.
Given that they have decent food, theyre waisting their value by staffs lack of commitment in service. I was not surprised that the restaurant was almost empty even though it was late dinner time (8pm). The restaurant definitely has a problem in hiring and educating their staff, and they need to do something to improve staffs service, not the food itself.
Really pathetic food…the staff taking forever to check on you and absolutely nothing in the name of courtesy/ hospitality. Pakistani food is so good usually…this was such a BIG let down!!!!
I find everything that these people sell awesome kababs, curries and lassi . The only reason I gave 4.5 is that I find the biryani a bit dry. Service is also good….
Good service but pathetic food. Ordered chicken handi, chicken rolls, daal mash, palak kadhai and chicken tandoori. Everything was bland and in no way depict Pakistani cuisine. Would have been better if I would have cooked at home. They are good for biryani but unfortunately did not have it at that time.
I started coming here a month or two ago and definitely recommend this place. The goat biriyani is consistently amazing! I also love haleem here, but it’s very hot. 2-3 chillis on a menu hotness scale. Order it and make sure you have a drink nearby. Also, their kulfi is 10/10. It’s mixed almond and pistachio, $5. The price is kinda steep for a small portion but the flavour is so rich and vibrant, well worth it.
