Spacious place, friendly stuff. I had brunch here on a Saturday morning with 6 friends and we ordered different things. My ommlet was good, worth the price. When the crispy pork belly came, it looked burned, and we were hesitated whether to have a change, but it tasted good. Won’t recommend goat with curry, just average. overall a bit pricey for brunch.
Food & service at Tom Phat is always great. I had the vegetarian Pad Thai in a bowl ($15), which was different because most Thai restaurants serve Pad Thai on a dish. The portions were generous & the ingredients fresh. Highly recommend Tom Phat for fresh modern asian food.
Last night I went out for dinner for my mums bday. My sister recommended Tom Phat based on places that she had visited before. We had about 7 people and one baby, and we brought our own cake to celebrate.
The menu is vast and there are a heap of options to choose from. We selected a few different dishes to share accompanied with jasmine rice. The flavours were all on point and each dish was enjoyable. Stand out favourites include the eggplant, soft shell crab salad and beef rendang.
I ordered a lychee mocktail, however it was too bitter and very sour. No one on my table liked it and unfortunately we ordered three.
Aside from that, the service is great and so is the ambience. They were able to accomodate our baby, plus they brought out our cake after dinner.
Overall it was a good experience and Id definitely come back!

We were walking along Brunswick in the evening and decided to try out Tom Phat which caught our interest! We had ordered two small plates and two mains!
Small plates:
Spicy chicken wings – I was pretty happy with the chicken wings as it was marinated very well and was not overly spicy! Most spicy chicken usually destroys the taste which too much chili but this was just right for me! Lets just say it was finger licking good!
Kung po cauliflower – usually the norm would be kung po chicken but cauliflower was used instead! I was skeptical about trying this as I was not sure how it would turned out! I was shocked and pleasantly surprised with how it tasted! The peppery and flavorsome sauce went really well with the cauliflower as it had absorbed it! I must say this was a very clever idea making it my fave small plate of the day!
Mains:
Tiger prawns – dont be fooled by the size of the plate as this dish is actually very filling! Served with red rice and chorizo, this dish was actually pretty tasty and complex! Id never tried red rice before and I enjoyed it with its sweetness complementing the saltiness of the chorizo and the marinated prawns!
Chilli caramel pork belly – served with green apple Asian slaw, this was my fave main of the day with the pork belly being super thick and juicy and tasting really yummy together with the slaw! I could feel the juiciness of the meat sipping into my mouth as munched into it!
Overall, we were pleased with the food and would go back to try the other small plates and mains!
Hip and trendy restaurant that serves fusion Asian cuisine that weve been to a few times. We enjoyed the duck curry and pork belly in particular. Would love to go back to try and more
Came for a lovely dinner night out with my partner based on his suggestions. We arrived in the evening, in time for happy hour and I will say. The cocktails are delicious. Quite worth the price as well during happy hour. Can recommend the kiwi vodka cocktail. We ordered 3 dishes, two mains and a share plate, and it was quite a good amount of food for sharing. All of it was very flavourful and well balanced. Best one of the night was the lamb curry. 4/5 can recommend!
I had a gorgeous meal at Tom Phat last weekend as part of a foodie collab. We were spoilt for choice and were able to try an extensive list of menu items such as the sticky chicken wings, Kung Po cauliflower, mapo eggplant, lamb and potato roti & a selection of meat and vegan bao. The mocktails are also delicious and refreshing – add a shot, if you’re feeling cheeky!
We also tried a selection of their lunch bowls and they were all absolutely phenomenal. We tried the tofu and tempen sticks, the Burmese chicken Biryani, crispy silken tofu & the duck with thick egg noodles.
My standout dishes were the duck with egg noodles, the bao and the silken tofu. The duck had a gorgeous BBQ flavour, the bao was light and fluffy and the tofu was so smooth!
We had all of the dishes lined up along the bench at the front and people were stopping to admire how nice everything looked! We also had a few patrons come up to see what dishes looked like before ordering haha
The vibe in the restaurant was also excellent. They have chill-hop music playing and the warm air was flowing in through the open shop front. The fit-out is very Bali-inspired and there are a range of benches, small tables and communal tables to choose from. The owner is an absolute sweetheart and you can tell that her business and happy customers are very happy to her.
While raving about my visit to various friends in the following week, many people I spoke to had already been to Tom Phat before, proving that it is indeed a popular and well known restaurant in the Brunswick area.
Thank you for an absolutely wonderful visit, team 🙂
