This is an absolute favourite of mine in the Brunswick area. After coming a few times for brekky this is my go-too. The portions are huge, perfect after a big night out. The staff are attentive and for under $20 the big breakfast is something you can’t go past.
    Great coffee, vibes and food.

Wilson Nook, formally known as The Green Refractory’s little pop up is pretty much identical to its big brother Greens down the street serving up large hearty meals at a dirt cheap price. The small interior is humble in nature and although narrow it easily accommodates for plenty of students soaking up the free wifi and cheap feeds.

Being a Brunswick local I know Greens all to well and when I noted the absence of the pop up and the birth of Wilson Nook the curiosity got the better of me so I popped in for a look. Greeted by the always overly friendly and super chilled waiter and snagged a spot on the stool seating across from the counter eyeing of there mouthwatering house made pastries and sweet treats. I glanced at the menu which I know for sure I will be ordering off upon my return but for today I settled for a classic sausage roll and cappuccino.

The sausage roll served with tomato chutney was flavoursome and packed full of tender, juicy filling. The flaky butter pastry was brought to life when dipped into the sweet chunky tomato chutney. The cappuccino was equally as enjoyable, nice and frothy with a perfect creamy texture. Before I left I grabbed my usual takeaway long black which was very impressive certainly better than what I have had at Greens before. The brew was strong and hot with fruity undertones and a lovely bite of acidity.

Wilson Nook is a classic Brunswick homestyle cafe delivering great coffee and basic yet filling food in a relaxing minimalistic setting. The menu is appealing and its safe to say I will certainly be returning.

Dont order Baked eggs, over cooked and no taste; I went to order first but they asked me to go back and sit so they will take the order after couple of minutes, they came to me and asked to pay near the counter. Over all a bad experience with customer service and I dont even want to talk about the food.
