Great food, reasonably priced, average atmosphere.
Our Margherita pizza was delicious, the best I have had in quite a while. It had a quality sauce (if you are a pizza lover, you can tell) and the base was crisp, scorched and bubbled from the wood oven. The only improvement I would make would be to have fresh basil leaves instead of a basil/olive oil puree but I can understand why restaurants do this and it wasn’t a let-down, just my personal preference.
My spaghetti Calabrese (diced [and a very good!] salami, red peppers, olives and chilli) was wonderful, with the bite from the salami and chilli offset by the natural bitterness of olives. I cleaned my plate up.
My sister said her spaghetti Amatriciana (bacon, onion, capsicum, chilli) was also delicious but she couldn’t finish hers. She asked if it could be taken home and the staff were good enough to pop it into a container for her. Well done. A lot of places tell you that they cannot due to health regulations, etc, but this is not true (I have researched this supposed rule, trust me).
Service was prompt and the meals were ready quite quickly, no mucking about here.
The only disappointments for me were the two televisions and the radio playing at the same time. I understand that this is a family restaurant and I didn’t expect intimacy but televisions and radios while dining push the grumpy-old-man-that’s-a-no-no button in me.
Dinner at La Salita was a drive across town for me as it was recommended by a work colleague but it was well worth the drive. I will dine here again, probably with my wife and kids, as they have a good variety on the menu (even burgers). La Salita is easily a 3.5 rating, I don’t know why the half stars have been abolished.
Very good quality Pizza and Pasta. A bit Pricey but you pay for some of the best Pizza in the Northern Suburbs. Good place to come and relax with a nice meal and the service is quick! Always come back here for a quick feed.
Went there tonight, parked at the back, saw a man in black smoking, heavily tattooed, thought he was a gangster. Went inside, saw the man in black had gone, hewas the pizza cook. Had not washed his hands. Saw some waitress with tacky pink hair. Not the ambiance that marries with good cuisine.
